Teenagers Injured, One Seriously, in Holtsville Crash

Passenger in serious condition with head trauma; the driver breaks clavicle and leg.

Suffolk Police are investigating a single-car crash in Holtsville Monday morning that has hospitalized two teenagers.

According to police Micka White, 18, was driving a 1995 Toyota south on Blue Point Road around 3:30 a.m. when the car jumped the curb and struck a tree on the east side of the road, about 300 feet south of Buckley Road.

Both White and his passenger, Dennis Rugolo, were rushed to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital by the Holtsville Fire Department and the Rescue squads. Rugolo, 18, of Holtsville, suffered serious head trauma. White, also of Holtsville, was admitted with a broken clavicle and broken leg.

The Toyota was impounded for a safety check as part of the investigation. If anyone has any information on this incident, police are asking you to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
