Suspect Wanted for L. Ronkonkoma Bank Robbery

Black male fled east after hitting up Wachovia Bank on Portion Road.

A man is still wanted for a July bank robbery in Lake Ronkonkoma. 

Suffolk County Police are asking for the public's help in solving a robbery that occurred Friday July 16 at about 4:03 p.m. when a man entered Wachovia Bank at 601 Portion Road and displayed a demand note for the teller to read. 

The suspect, who eventually fled east, then made a verbal demand for money. The teller complied and gave him cash from the drawer.

The suspect is described as a black male, mid to late 20's, between 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-9, thin to medium build. He was wearing black dress pants, black shirt, sunglasses and a striped tie.

He may have fled the bank as a passenger in a red pickup truck with a grey stripe on the side and a cap on the cargo section of the truck. 

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.  All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5000.00 for information that leads to an arrest.
