Crime Stoppers and the Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are asking for the public's help to identify and locate the person responsible for the death of a Mastic Beach man who was shot while sitting in his car in Lake Ronkonkoma.
On Monday May 24, 2010 Raymond Hirt was in his vehicle which was parked on Beech Street, just south of Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma, when a dark colored SUV pulled up beside the vehicle and an occupant fired at least one shot, striking Hirt in the neck.
Raymond Hirt was employed as a flagman for Pratt Brothers, Inc. He had checked in for work at a nearby construction trailer and had just returned to his car when he was shot.
Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5000.00 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
