Suffolk PAL Hosts Football Tournament in Holtsville
Tourney raises $1,700 in donations to organization that helps feed the hungry.
The Suffolk County Police Athletic League donated $1,700 to Lighthouse Mission after holding a massive football tournament at its complex in Holtsville earlier this month.
The "7 on 7 Football Passing Tournament" drew around 20 PAL league teams from all over Suffolk County to participate in the contest. The players were given a chance to showcase their skills while donating their registration fees to a good cause.
Lighthouse Mission is a nonprofit organization run by Pastor Jim Ryan, whose staff travels all over Suffolk every week to help provide food to those who are most in need of it, according to a release.
