Police: Farmingville Man Arrested for Driving Over 100 MPH on LIE

Had BAC of .17 and faces multiple charges, sheriff's office says.

A Farmingville man was arrested Friday for speeding over 100 mph on the Long Island Expressway, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's office.

Deputy Sheriff Rasiak arrested Kamil Duda, 34, operating a 2004 Mercedes eastbound at Exit 58 of the Long Island Expressway.

Duda was traveling at 110 mph, striking another vehicle in the center lane. He was arrested at the scene and a subsequent breath test revealed a BAC of .17.  He faces multiple charges and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, according to the sheriff's office.

Another incident, unrelated to Duda's, involving a New Jersey woman with a BAC of .20 occurred around the same time.

“Thankfully, these drivers were apprehended before their reckless behavior resulted in loss of life," Sheriff Vincent F. DeMarco said in a statement.
