A shed in the backyard of a Farmingville home caught fire Saturday night.
Captain David Smith of the Farmingville Fire Department said neighbors reported what they thought was a brush fire, but ultimately turned out to be a sided shed set ablaze off towards the rear of the home.
Smith said it was a relatively routine fire with no bells and whistles.
"It doesn't get easier than this," he said.
The home owners were not present at the time of the fire. According to the fire department, the Suffolk County Fire Marshall is investigating the fire.
One neighbor did not want to comment, two other houses did not answer their door. The police blocked off the street, which saw just two cars watching the mild commotion from a distance.
Sachem Patch will follow up with this situation.
