The chopper was hovering stationary mainly over the Holtsville Park area of town with the search light panning the entire area, including the neighborhood off North Ocean Avenue, near Masonic and Fairview avenues.

At 11:52 p.m., the chopper headed south and took its search towards Woodside Avenue, continuing to hover in the Sachem community.

12:05 a.m.: The bird is still searching near Woodside. From this vantage point in Holtsville, it looks as if the searchlight may be pointed in the North Patchogue neighborhood south of Woodside and east of Patchogue-Holbrook Road.

12:08 a.m.: The helicopter disperses from the area and appears to be through with its search in Holtsville for now. It might just need to reload on fuel. There could be more of a search going on with patrol cars. Suffolk County police said it would send releasable information about the incident by morning.

12:40 a.m.: The search is on again. This time, the chopper is focused more in Medford, very close to North Ocean Avenue.

12:56 a.m.: Chopper is still stationary with its light pointed towards the east. It appears to be over North Ocean still.

1:07 a.m.: Another 10 minutes and the chopper is still focused and situated in the same spot.

1:13 a.m.: The aerial search party changed its course a quarter mile west, back towards Woodside Avenue, it appears. It's 45 degrees outside in Holtsville right now, whoever they're looking for must be cold right about now.

1:16 a.m.: Another quarter mile west, back towards Buckley Road. This location is not exact. It's officially Veteran's Day. Be sure to check out Sachem Patch's , which started on Monday and wraps up Thursday at 6 a.m.

1:17 a.m.: The chopper is leaving. Two options: to refuel back at Long Island MacArthur Airport and back for more, or home for good.

1:39 a.m.: This search must be over. Check Sachem Patch Thursday for updated material about the actual incident.

5:37 a.m.: According to Suffolk County Police, officers attempted to pull over a vehicle after a traffic violation in Holtsville.  Upon pulling over the vehicle to the side of the road on Waverly Ave near Blue Point Road, two men fled the scene on foot.  A Suffolk County Police helicopter was called in to track the subjects but they were unable to find the two men.
