Ronkonkoma Man Charged with BWI in Nassau

Suspect held on numerous other charges in Massapequa arrest.

A Ronkonkoma man was arrested for boating while intoxicated in the waters off Massapequa this past weekend.

Police say Timothy O'Keefe, 25, was drunk Saturday night when he was operating a vessel, according to this Newsday article. O'Keefe was charged with BWI, reckless operation and possession of unlawful marijuana. He was arraigned in Hempstead on Sunday and is being held on $15,000 bail. He is due back in court on Wednesday.

According to the article, this is the sixth BWI case this summer in Nassau County. There have been seven BWI arrests in Suffolk.
