Ronkonkoma Fire Department Holds Drill Despite Weather
In sleet and threats of heavy snow, Ronkonkoma volunteers run vehicle extraction exercise.
This photo was sent to our Facebook page by Ken Okvist. This was not a real accident, but a training exercise to keep volunteers ready in the event they need to extract a motor vehicle accident victim from a bad wreck.
Okvist describes the scene:
"[The] Ronkonkoma Fire Department won't let a little nor'easter stop their hurst tool extricatiion drill last night. Members of heavy rescue Co.8 sharpened their skills despite the weather."
