Armed Robber Strikes Party Hardy in Nesconset

Suffolk County police are on the scene Monday morning.

A Nesconset store was struck by an armed robbery early Monday morning.

Suffolk County police said a 911 call came in at 11:22 a.m. Monday reporting an armed robbery at Party Hardy in Nesconset, located at 145 Smithtown Boulevard.

Police said a man entered Party Hardy and approached the cash register, displaying what appeared to be a handgun. The man demanded cash and the cashier immediately handed it over.

The gunman fled the Nesconset store, it is not clear whether he was on foot or traveling in a vehicle, according to police.

Police detectives, K-9 units and crime scene investigations were called to the Nesconset strip mall to search for the burglar and any possible leads.

No arrests have been made as of 3:45 p.m. Monday.

It is not immediately clear whether this robbery is in any way connected to last week's break-in at Ralph's Italian Ices in Nesconset.
