Suffolk County Police arrested a man yesterday for allegedly brandishing a gun at a fellow motorist in Farmingville.
Police say they received a call from a motorist at around noon on Christmas Day, claiming that another driver had flashed a handgun and pointed it at him following a traffic dispute on Nicolls Road just north of the LIE.
The complainant was able to give police a description of the driver and the driver's license plate number, which belonged to a gray 2012 Volkswagen sedan registered to an address in Northport. Northport Village police picked up the broadcast description and stopped Brian Deuchar D'Angelis driving in the village and held him until Suffolk Police arrived. The victim of the incident was brought along and positively identified Deuchar D'Angelis as the perpetrator.
The vehicle was impounded by police, and an imitation pistol was found. Deuchar D'Angelis, 36, of Moriches, was charged with 2nd Degree Menacing and 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He spent the night in holding at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned in Central Islip today.
