Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a group of people who assaulted an employee at a bar in Ronkonkoma in last month.

An employee of Richie B’s Diamond Club, located at 33 Railroad Ave., was at the club while off-duty and attempted to help two bartenders who were having an issue with a group of patrons who were refusing to leave a credit card for a bar tab on Jan. 1 at approximately 4:10 a.m., police said.

During the dispute, one of the patrons attacked the off-duty employee. The group, four males and three females, dragged the victim out of the bar and continued to hit him on the sidewalk, police said. The group fled and the victim was treated at a hospital for his injuries.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
