Police: Ronkonkoma Man Charged in 10 Home Burglaries

Vincent Heilig, 30, stole money and jewelry from homes, police say.

A Ronkonkoma man stole jewelry and money from 10 homes in the area over the past several months, police said.  

Vincent Heilig, 30, was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation and charged with six residential burglaries in the Ronkonkoma area, police said.  

Further investigation by Fifth Squad detectives revealed Heilig was responsible for four additional burglaries in Ronkonkoma and Medford, police said.

The first burglary occurred in April 2013 with the rest in December 2013 and January of this year. All of the homes were unoccupied at the time of the burglaries, police said.

Heilig is charged with 10 counts of second degree burglary and one county of second degree attempted burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday. 

The investigation is continuing.
