Police: Ronkonkoma CVS Robbery May Be Work of Serial Robber

Armed robbery at Portion Road CVS may be tied to numerous others in the area, police say.

Police say the man who robbed the Ronkonkoma CVS Thursday may be tied to numerous other robberies in the county. 

According to police, the man entered the CVS located at 729 Portion Road, demanded money and displayed what appeared to be a handgun around 5:20 p.m. The man fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Police said the robbery "has been identified as possibly being connected to the robbery pattern that occurred at businesses throughout Suffolk County during the past two weeks." 

Besides the Ronkonkoma CVS, robberies have occurred at seven gas stations located in Eastport, Calverton, Mastic, St. James, Dix Hills, North Babylon and Bohemia as well as at Jamba Juice in Stony Brook. No one was injured during any of the robberies. 

The suspect is described as a white man, between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2 with a thin to medium build. He usually wears a dark-colored or gray hooded sweatshirt, police said.
