Police Release Surveillance Video of CVS Pharmacy Robbery

Crime Stoppers offering $5,000 reward for information.

Police are hoping a surveillance video from inside a Farmingville CVS will point them in the direction of a who stole drugs from the pharmacy on Sunday.

The nearly 20-second video shows a man in a backward baseball cap interacting with an employee at the pharmacy counter. 

Police say that man walked into the store at 935 Horseblock Road around noon Sunday, approached the counter and asked about the availability of specific prescription items.

The suspected thief left the store and returned a short time later. He handed a pharmacy employee a note containing a threat and demanding prescription drugs and cash. The employee complied with the demand and the suspect fled the scene on foot, according to police. 

The robbery occurred just a week after four people were down during a robbery at a Medford pharmacy.

Police said the suspect is described as a white male with a thin build, 5-foot-8 and in his early 20s. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a white and red baseball hat and dark-colored pants. 

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS.
