Police: Medford Man Arrested In Connection With Heroin Conspiracy Ring

A Medford man is one of two arrested Friday morning on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin in connection with what Vermont state police say is one of the largest heroin seizures in Vermont’s history.

According to police, Eddie Eason Jr., 25 of Medford, and Marcus Davis, 34 of Brooklyn, have been taken into custody in relation to a Friday search at around 1 a.m. in a residence in Burlington, VT executed by the Vermont Drug Task Force, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Burlington Police Department. As part of the search, over 9,000 bags of heroin with an approximate street value of $126,000, as well as $5,000 in cash were seized, police said. Both men are allegedly part of a larger heroin distribution ring trafficking heroin from New York City to Vermont, police said.

According to WCAX, Davis told police that he bought the drugs in New York City for $30,000 and hired Eason to “watch his back” while in Vermont. Davis and Eason are being held without bail, according to court papers cited in WCAX’s report. Both men are scheduled to return to court Tuesday and Wednesday for detention hearings.

Police say that the investigation into this is continuing, with more arrests possibly forthcoming. Eason and Davis were scheduled for Friday arraignments in U.S. District Court.
