Police: Man Stole Cancer Donation Box From St. James Gas Station

Police asking for public's help to find thief.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the man pictured above who they say stole a donation box from a gas station in St. James last month.

Police said the man entered Citgo, located at 545 North Country Road, on March 9 at approximately 1:45 p.m. and took a cancer donation box from the counter that contained cash. 

The man was described as white, heavy-set and approximately 20 to 30 years old, police said.  

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

ANOTHER DEGENERATE LOW LIFE. THIS IS THE THIRD SUCH LARCENY IN RECENT MONTHS. THE FIRST TWO WERE CAUGHT RATHER QUICKLY. HOPEFULLY HE'LL BE APPREHENDED AS SWIFTLY AND ENDURE A SUITABLE INCARCERATION PERIOD.
