Police: Lake Ronkonkoma Sex Offender Didn't Report Facebook Account

A registered sex offender living in Lake Ronkonkoma was arrested on Monday after he failed to register his Facebook account with the state's sex offender registry as required by law, police said. 

Michael Iannello, 30, of of 103 Dorchester Road, was arrested in Bay Shore following an investigation by the Suffolk County Police Computer Crimes Section, in cooperation with the Section Special Victims Section and the Suffolk County Probation Department.

Further investigation by Computer Crimes detectives revealed that Iannello had planned a trip to Disney World in Florida in June 2014, police said.

Iannello was convicted of first degree attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors in September 2011, according to the state registry. 

Iannello was charged Monday with sex offender failure to report a change, in violation of NY State Corrections Law. He was held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is due to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Tuesday.
