Police: Lake Ronkonkoma Home Damaged By Fire, Cars Hit with Graffiti

Police are investigating the incident which occurred early Tuesday morning.

A home in Lake Ronkonkoma was targeted early Tuesday morning and damaged by fire, while cars were sprayed with graffiti, according to police.

Police were called to a fire at a home, located on Weichers Street, at approximately 1:40 a.m.

Three residents were sleeping at the time of the fire and escaped unharmed. Ronkonkoma and Lakeland Fire Departments extinguished the fire. In addition, two vehicles parked outside the residence were damaged by graffiti, according to police.

A preliminary investigation by Arson Squad detectives has determined the fire was started by an unknown person or persons who used available materials. Anyone with information is asked to call the Arson Squad at 631-852-6024 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
