Police: Holbrook Man Arrested in Patchogue Armed Robbery

Robbery took place early Saturday, police say.

Two men, including one from Holbook, were arrested following an armed robbery in Patchogue Saturday morning, police said. 

A 23-year-old East Islip male was walking on Rider Avenue near Terry Street at 4:40 a.m. when he was approached by two men, police said. After one man displayed a knife and threatened him, the two men stole cash and an iPhone.

Two Fifth Precinct police officers, who were responding to the robbery, were able to locate the men and the proceeds were recovered, police said. 

Christopher Washington, 23, of Coram, and Stephan Riley, 22, of Holbrook, are each charged with first degree robbery.

Washington and Riley are being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and are scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
