Police: Help ID Man Who Stole iPod From Boy

Police say man tricked 13-year-old and made off with device.

Suffolk Police are seeking help from the surrounding community to identify and locate a man they say scammed a 13-year-old boy out of the iPod the boy had advertised on Craigslist.

According to police, the man arrived at the boy's Selden home purportedly in response to the Craigslist ad. He was given an opportunity to hold the iPod, and put it in his pocket. The man then told the boy he needed to go to a bank to get cash. He handed a different iPod back to the boy and left in a dark blue Volkswagen Jetta (see photo in gallery).

The boy realized a switch had been made when the iPod didn't work. The subject is described as a white male, about 5’9” tall, 220 lbs., with dark hair and some facial hair on his chin. Additional photos of the suspect are in the gallery.
