Police: Farmingville Man Drove Drunk With 2-Year-Old in Car

George Perez, 36, faces a felony DWI charge following arrest last Friday.

A Farmingville man has been charged with felony DWI after State Police say he was driving while intoxicated with a 2-year-old passenger in his vehicle.

Police say an officer spotted a white Jeep traveling 15 mph on the westbound side of Sunrise Highway near Horseblock Road in Brookhaven at 6:34 p.m. last Friday.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and while interviewing the driver, George Perez, 36, "noticed obvious signs of intoxication," police said.

Perez was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI–a felony under Leandra's Law–endangering the welfare of a child and traffic violations, police said.
