A Patchogue woman was arrested Saturday after driving on the Southern State Parkway in the North Bellmore area with a suspended license and with drugs in her vehicle, New York State Police said.
Her husband, a passenger in the car, was also arrested, police said.
According to police, troopers from State Police Farmingdale Barracks were patrolling the highway shortly before noon Saturday with a license plate reader when a red Nissan Armada alerted the reader to a suspended registration.
After stopping the vehicle, police say that the driver Michelle Pagliarulo, 37, was found to be driving with a suspended license. After searching the vehicle, police also say they found 2.7 grams of cocaine, several oxycodone pills, eight grams of marijuana and a smoking pipe also containing marijuana.
Pagliarulo and her husband, Andrew Pagliarulo, 34, were both charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree (felony), criminal possession of controlled substances in the seventh degree (misdemeanor) and unlawful possession of marijuana (violation).
Both were held for arraignment in Nassau County First District Court.
