Police: Car Strikes Holbrook Woman

29-year-old listed in serious condition from Holbrook Road collision.

A 29-year-old Holbrook woman is seriously injured after being struck by a car Thursday night while walking on Holbrook Road in Holbrook, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, Amanda Giardina was standing in the roadway at the road’s intersection with Express Drive North around 9:12 p.m. when a 2001 Volkswagen driving northbound on Holbrook Road struck her.

Police say the vehicle was reportedly driven by Sean Morrison, 46 of Lake Ronkonkoma.

Giardina was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via a fire department ambulance where she is being treated for multiple fractures. Police say she is listed in serious condition, and that Morrison was uninjured.

Police say the vehicle has been impounded for a safety check, and the investigation is continuing.
