Police Arrest Farmingville Man on Murder Charge in Fatal Stabbing

Robert Gregory, 19, is charged with fatally stabbing Julian Pena outside a Holbrook bar early Wednesday.

Police have arrested two people, including one on a murder charge in connection with an early morning stabbing in Holbook, law enforcement officials said. 

Robert Gregory, 19, of Farmingville, is charged with second degree murder stemming from the incident outside of Momo's Bar & Grill on Union Avenue around midnight Wednesday. 

Rueben Rosario, 28, of Selden, was also arrested and charged with one count of second degree gang assault, police said.

According to a release, cops responded to a call that multiple people were fighting in front of the bar. When they got to the scene, two people were injured, including Julian Pena, 29, who was suffering from stab wounds.

Pena, of Holbrook, was rushed to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he died from his injuries. The second victim was also treated at Stony Brook and later released.

Pena, who has a 2-year-old son, was a Navy veteran who was studying to be a nuclear engineer at Stony Brook University, friends of the Pena family told NBC News. 

Gregory is being held overnight at the Sixth Precinct in Selden and will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police would not say if they are looking for additional suspects in the incident, but the investigation is continuing.
