Police: Alarm Stops Holbrook Burglary Attempt, Mailboxes Are Damaged
Unknown individual attempts to rob home in New England Village on Sunday night.
A home in Holbrook was being broken into when an alarm scared the suspect away, according to Suffolk County Police.
An unknown individual committed attempted burglary Sunday night, but was thwarted by an alarm that was activated when the door was kicked in at the home located in New England Village.
According to police, there have also been at least five reported incidents of mailboxes being damaged on Singing Wood Drive, in the village located between Furrows Road and Patchogue Holbrook Road.

All incidents were reported between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
An individual who emailed Sachem Patch about this said he saw at least eight mailboxes damaged.
