PHOTO: Volunteers Respond To Three Car Collision

The Ronkonkoma Fire Department is being credited with responding to a motor vehicle accident on Ronkonkoma Avenue near Hillcrest Avenue. According to the emergency service aggregation site Suburban Fire Marshal, rescuers arrived at a three-car collision with a victim trapped inside one of the vehicles at around 5:20 p.m. on New Year's day.

Responders removed the driver's side rear door of this vehicle in the photo, extricated and stabalized the victim. The trapped victim and others hurt in the collision were all taken to area hospitals for treatment.
