Police are on the hunt for a bank robber who struck in Lake Ronkonkoma Friday evening.
A man entered the on Portion Road shortly before 7 p.m. "and handed a teller a plastic bag while announcing a robbery and demanding cash," police said.
The teller complied and gave the man cash from the drawer. The man then fled on foot westbound on Portion Road, police said.
The man is described as black, in his late 40s, approximately 6-foot-1, with black and gray hair, with dreadlocks, and a thin build. He was unshaven and wearing a beige sweater, brown pants, and a dark baseball hat at the time of the robbery.
