Local Cub Scout Trailer Stolen

Pack loses 40-plus years of history.

A local Cub Scout Pack’s trailer was stolen last week.

According to one person close to the situation, Cub Scout Pack 370’s trailer was last seen on Monday, January 16, parked in their sponsor’s lot, Marconi Lodge in Islip. It is a 1985 unite trailer, plate number: BA90915 silver/grey. It has most of the old lettering on it, which reads "Boy Scouts Troop 439.” They have owned it for seven months.

“A police report was filed, but were missing a big part of us,” said one person.

Some items inside the trailer include 42 years worth of awards from the scout pack, PC projector, projector screen, two custom BBQs, and, of course, memories.

Cub Scout Pack 370 consists of over 70 scouts, ages 7-10, from the Town of Islip and the pack has been around for over 43 years.

Like many packs, 370 helps with community service projects throughout the year.

Losing all of their equipment is only a speed bump in their history.

“We are very sadden that this happened and it will be hard to tell the scouts that their hard work was stolen by someone that wanted it more,” said one person in an email about the situation. “The pack will rise above this and look ahead.”

Cub Scout Pack 370 is now looking toward the community for some help. If you have seen the trailer, please call 631-852-COPS or the Cub Master at 631-882-5533.
