Holbrook Medic, Police Officer Bring Woman Back to Life

Cardiac arrest victim in Holbrook saved just in time.

A Holbrook woman who suffered a heart attack is alive today after being revived by a medic and a member of the 5th precinct.

Officer Kevin Csoka and Holbrook medic Keith Laidman responded to a call at Spruce Drive in Holbrook last night that a 46-year-old woman was having a seizure. When they got there, they realized the woman, Karen Blakely, was in cardiac arrest and showed no pulse.

Using CPR, Laidman and Csoka were able to restore the woman's pulse and rush her to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. Blakely is listed in critical but stable condition. Patch will have more as this story develops.
