Fire Destroys Two-Story Ronkonkoma Home

Investigators say fire on Fir Grove Road does not appear to be criminal.

Suffolk Police say the fire that destroyed a two-story Ronkonkoma home on Fir Grove Road yesterday does not appear to be arson, and there were no injuries to report.

It took four fire departments, including the Ronkonkoma Fire Department, to extinguish the blaze, which engulfed the entire right side of the split-ranch.

According to a report in Newsday, the fire broke out at around 7:20 a.m. on Friday. Members of the Lakeland, Central Islip, Hauppauge and Ronkonkoma departments answered the bell, about a block north of the westbound service road of the Long Island Expressway.
