Farmingville Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident

Accident occurred on Middle Country Road in Selden.

A Farmingville man died in a motorcycle accident in Selden Sunday, according to Suffolk County Police.

Travis Smith, 20, of Locust Avenue in Farmingville, was operating a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Route 25 when a 1997 Dodge sedan driven by Georgia Reeve, 83, made a left turn into the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy at the intersection of North Evergreen Drive and the vehicles collided at 11:32 a.m., according to police.

Police said Smith was transported by the Selden Fire Department to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Reeve, of Peacock Path, Coram, was also transported to Stony Brook, where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
