Farmingville Man Being Held With Warrant in Myrtle Beach, SC

Police say Farmingville native refused to leave hospital, damaged property.

Police in Myrtle Beach have issued a warrant for the arrest of a Farmingville man who they say became irate and destructive at an area hospital after the hospital discharged him without a diagnosis.

According to a news report by Myrtle Beach online, James McGuire was discharged by Grand Strand Regional Medical Center without a diagnosis yesterday. As a result, McGuire allegedly bashed an exit sign as well as the cover to an emergency oxygen shut-off valvue. An emergency worker at the hospital said McGuire then threatened to harm himself if he was not properly admitted.

Fearing he'd make good on his threats, the medical center re-admitted McGuire and called police. Officers issued the warrant for the damaged property and instructed hospital workers to notify them when McGuire was due to be discharged.
