Two subjects have been arrested for stealing a Holbrook woman’s purse Friday afternoon.
A 67-year-old woman, who police did not identify, was walking out to the parking lot of the Sun-Vet Mall in Holbrook when she was approached by a man who asked her for directions around 1 p.m. on Jan. 21, police said.
As she began to assist him, the man grabbed her purse and got into his car, which was being driven by another woman. The victim tried to get her purse back and was pushed to the ground. Both subjects fled the scene.
According to police, following an investigation by Fifth Squad detectives, John T. Walsh, 40, and Vikki Samsoe, 41, were both arrested on Jan. 22. Walsh, of Ledgewood Circle, East Setauket, and Samsoe, of Wylde Rd., Mt. Sinai, were both charged with robbery second degree.
They were both scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip today.
