West Islip resident Mark Hotton is back in jail to await sentencing on fraud conspiracy charges following a request by the United States Attorney's office. In a letter sent Tuesday to Senior United States District Judge Joanna Seyber the government’s attorney stated Hotton had committed criminal acts while on bail and failed to comply with other release conditions.

Fish, Chicken & Turtles Stolen From West Islip Pet Store

Suffolk police are looking for a thief who stole over a dozen 15-inch turtles, two large koi fish, a chicken and some statuary pond décor from a West Islip exotic pet store earlier this month. The theft at B.T.J’s Jungle, which occurred on October 7 according to the store’s surveillance video, was reported to police this weekend after owners realized the animals and items were missing.

Man Exposes Himself To Teens Near Setauket Elementary School

Suffolk County Police are investigating an incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in which a man exposed himself to teenagers near Setauket Elementary School. The teens were walking past the man's sea mist-colored Subaru Legacy around 4:15 p.m. when the man exposed himself, according to a message to Three Village parents from Jack Blaum, the coordinator of security for the school district.
