Crime Report: Two Nabbed In Bar Burglary

A look at recent crime in Farmingville.

The following information was culled from the Suffolk County Police Department’s automated reporting and arrest database.

Farmingville

  • Mr. Lucky's Pub on Mooney Pond Road proved to be an unlucky place for two would-be burglars arrested on August 18. According to police the incident took place at the bar at around 5:30 a.m. when Ashley Lalor, 25, and Jonathan Layton, 27, both of Farmingdale, struck an unidentified victim with a weapon and attempted to take proceeds. Police say the heist was unsuccessful and the two were arrested and charged with burglary with intent to cause physical injury and other charges. 
  • Police responded to a case of identity theft on August 19. According to police a woman called 911 at around midnight to report that an unknown person had made multiple unauthorized purchases against her checking account. The investigation is ongoing. 
  • Police answered a grand larceny complaint at Tru-Cut Landscaping on August 19. According to police an unknown person had cut the latch handles on both trailers located at the business on Horseblock Road. The suspect(s) made off with landscaping equipment including two leaf blowers, one Makita brick saw, two chainsaws, a weed-wacker and other items.
  • Police answered a call for identity theft on August 16. According to police a resident on Woodycrest Drive called 911 to report that an unknown person had somehow linked a Chase bank account to the complainant's existing Chase account and transferred the complainant's funds to the new account. Police say the suspect(s) then made a cash withdrawal of the funds. The investigation is ongoing.
