Crime Report: Stolen Leaf Blowers, Damaged Car

A look at recent crime in Holtsville.

The following information was culled from the Suffolk County Police Department's automated reporting and arrest database.

Holtsville

  • Police responded to a grand larceny call on July 27. According to police an unknown subject entered the property of CM Landscape Services on Portion Road at around 5 p.m. and stole four leaf blowers from a storage shed. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Police answered a call for criminal mischief on July 28. Police say a resident on Long Island Avenue called 911 to report that words had been carved onto the hood of their 2010 Kia, the windshield wipers had been snapped off and the side view mirrors on both sides of the car were broken off. The call came in at 10 p.m.
  • Police responded to a grand larceny on July 22 at around 7 p.m. According to police a resident on Old Medford Avenue called 911 to report that an unknown person had stolen a power drill, bits and other tools from their 2005 Dodge pickup. The investigation is ongoing. 
  • There were no arrests for serious offenses in Holtsville this week.
