This is disgusting I am not arrested and havnt ever been never will be. This is false statements making me look like a criminal and I am flamed by this I have no charges never will. I happen to carry something to protect myself from all these scumbag teenagers around here. First of all I get pulled over for no reason getting searched with out my consent when I didn't do anything at all just went there the parking lot of kmart at night and the detectives pulled me over for no reason. I think this is disgusting and deserve my rights of this getting pulled down and my name to not to be in here. Making me look like a criminal cause I want to protect myself.

David, What's disgusting is that you were hanging out in the K-mart parking lot. It's a bad place. Police often patrol that area due to the crime that happens there. Suggestion, if you want to stay out of trouble and not use your weapon in fear of "scumbag teenagers", then you need to consider finding a new place to park at night. Want to stay out of trouble? Then don't hang out where trouble is. Simple enough. Sure you've got the right, as this is America but if you're not shopping or eating Burger King in that parking lot, then you were tresspassing and or loitering. Something the police will crack down on. I hope it all works out for you. Best of luck, sir.

I agree with you Pazi and he should not be hanging out in parking lots!!! It has been confirmed that he WAS NOT arrested and issued a summons and court date. I dont know why when your issued a court date they state you where arrested. Kind of a false statement since there was no arrest but this is how our system works. It was confirmed by the Sargent at the 6th no arrest has been made. Teenagers hanging out in parking lots are looking for trouble that is a fact they should find hobbies or hang out at home!!! Just a mother clearing her sons name!!

Debbie, It's hard being a teenager and staying out of trouble. Heck during my "stupid" years,I used to hang out in the woods. (To not be in the "public" eye, so to say) So I understand when a teen says..."I've nowhere to hang out". Look, I'm not stupid and I've been around. Nothing good happens in the k-mart parking lot. Every news story I read about that parking lot, tells me it's a place to stay away from. I checked the Webcrims NY Courts page and did not see Mr. Cunninghams arrest, which tells me it was just a court appearance. If he's never been in trouble before, he should get off with a warning or ACOD.

Debbie, and others who read Sachem Patch. According to the police, a bench appearance date is equivalent to an arrest, even if the person is not handcuffed, taken to the precinct, fingerprinted or held for a mugshot. If a bench appearance is written, it is considered an arrest, which is why Mr. Cunningham's name appeared when we looked up this week's arrest report on Suffolk PD's police reports website. The information comes from them and is a matter of public record.

Honestly kids will be kids and while I understand the need to protect yourself David I don't quite understand pulling over in the K-Mart parking lot...if you felt the kids were trouble then why stick around...if you have a license for the firearm then you shouldn't have any problems but if everyone remembers while Bernie Goetz was protecting himself on that NYC subway he still went to jail....remember that next time you carry a piece with you for protection!!!

people who dont "hang out" in parking lots generally dont need to carry weapons. I guess hanging out is more important than just avoiding trouble altogether. Aparently stupid is contagious among many of todays youth.....

And to clear another thing It was not a firearm it was a baton. Another false statement.
