Crime Report: Priest's Home Burglarized While He's at Church

A list of incidents in the Sachem area last week as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list .

Farmingville

  • An incident of harassment took place on Rochelle Terrace on August 18 at 4:41 p.m. According to the report, a violent, intoxicated husband punched the complainant's husband.
  • Police responded to a criminal mischief complaint on August 11 at 9 p.m. A house on College Hills Drive had a back door reportedly broken in during an alleged attempted burglary.
  • Damage to property on Woodycrest Drive sent police to the scene on August 16. The criminal mischief call came at 2:33 p.m.
  • Police responded to another criminal mischief call on August 15 on Carol Avenue. According to the report, the mischief was done to a fence on that street.
  • Two vehicles in a driveway were keyed on Kara Court on August 12. Police responded to the criminal mischief call at approximately 10:30 p.m.

  • Police were called to a house being burglarized on Mollie Street on August 18 at approximately 4:25 a.m. According to the report, the caller was waiting outside of the home, for fear the burglar was still in the house.
  • An incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle occurred on August 17 at 2:30 a.m. on Santa Anita Court.
  • A daughter called police on her mother on August 16 at 4:35 p.m., claiming she had attacked her. Police responded to the incident on Springmeadow Drive.
  • Police responded to a harassment call on Columbia Street on August 16. According to the report, a 23-year-old stepson complained that his stepfather assaulted him. The 23-year-old refused rescue.

Holtsville

  • Police answered calls for two burglaries, one on August 15, the other on August 16. On August 15, police responded to a burglarized home on Cassa Lane at around 9:30 a.m. On August 16, robbers entered a home on Washington Avenue and removed items from the home. Police received the call at around 10:15 a.m.
  • An assault occurred on Plad Boulevard on August 17 at approximately 9 a.m.
  • Police responded to a call for aggravated harassment on August 17 at a residence on Flower Avenue. According to the complaint, an unknown male subject was making threats via text messaging and the computer.

  • An incident of criminal mischief occurred at a home on Peconic Street on August 18 at 5 a.m. According to the report, front windows to a residence were broken.
  • The home of a priest who lives on Old Nichols Road was burglarized while he was at church on August 18. Police answered the call at approximately 4:30 p.m. According to the complaint the thieves entered through the priest's front door while he was gone.
  • Police answered a call for aggravated harassment on Bay Avenue on August 17 at 10 a.m.
  • On August 17 police responded to a burglary on Croaton Street at 1 a.m. By the time police arrived, the alleged burglars were gone.
  • A man called police on his daughter on August 17 for harassing him over the phone at his home on Johnson Avenue. Police responded to the call at midnight.
