Crime Report: Disgruntled Employees and Mailbox Baseball

A list of incidents in the Sachem area last week as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list .  

Holbrook

  • An incident of harrassment occurred on the westbound Sunrise Service Road. The dispute took place between a store manager and a former employee at 4:45 p.m. on June 30.
  • Police reported a grand larceny on Lisa Court around midnight on June 28. According to the report a van and back yard was ransacked of its valuables.

Holtsville

  • Police responded to a harrassment call on Morris Avenue at 12:30 a.m. on June 30. The suspect was known to the complainant, but fled the scene in an unknown direction.
  • An assault took place on Nicholls Road between two drivers, one driving a green sedan and the other a white pick-up truck.
  • Police received a call about a violent ex-girlfriend harrassing the complainant, who was waiting outside when police arrived. The call came from Lowell Avenue at 12:50 p.m. on June 28.

Farmingville

  • Police responded to an assault that took place on Glenwood Place, where a man punched a woman in the face and threw her out of the vehicle. The incident took place at 4:52 p.m. on June 29.
  • An incident of criminal mischief occurred on Blue Point Road on June 28 when an ex-boyfriend caused damage to the complainant's vehicle. The ex-boyfriend fled the scene before police arrived.
  • A drunk man punched another man in the face on Avenue D on June 27 at 2:45 p.m. The victim was treated for his injuries.

  • Police responded to a burglary on Seawanhaka Avenue on June 29 at 4:00 a.m. According to the incident report, the suspect was known to the complainant as the ex-boyfriend of the complainant's sister.
  • Criminal mischief was done to a mailbox on Locust Street on June 29 at midnight.
  • A shed was broken into and tools were stolen on Fir Grove Road on June 27 at 11:00 a.m.
