Crime Report: Burglaries, Flying Shopping Carts

A list of incidents and arrests in Holtsville and Farmingville last week as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list .

Holtsville

  • Police responded to a criminal mischief incident on the westbound Express Drive service road on November 13 after a complainant said someone threw a shopping cart at the complainant's car. The call came in shortly after midnight.
  • Police answered a burglary call on Blue Point Road on November 12 at around 1:30 p.m.
  • No serious arrests were made in Holtsville this past week.

Farmingville

  • Police responded to a burglary on Mt White Avenue on November 16 at around 5 p.m. According to the complaint, items were taken from the house, including a laptop and other electronic devices.
  • Police answered a call for criminal mischief on Fleetwood Drive on November 16 at around 4:30 p.m. According to the report, the glass door of a home was smashed. It was unknown at the time if the suspect had entered the home or was still inside.
  • Police responded to a burglary call on Mt Rainier Avenue on November 15 at around 8 a.m.
  • No serious arrests were made in Farmingville this week.
