Crime Report: Brick Vs. Car Window, Ashtray Hurlers

A look at the past week's police incidents and arrests for Holbrook.

The following incidents and arrests were culled from the Suffolk County Police Department's media page

Holbrook

  • Police responded to a criminal mischief call on Smith Avenue on March 4 at around 5 a.m. According to the complaint description damage was done to the doors and locks of a residence at the location. It was unclear whether anything was taken.
  • Police answered a call for criminal mischief on Avenue A on March 3 at around 9:30 p.m. Not much detail is provided in the complaint description, but the complainant met with police at a nearby gas station.
  • Police responded to a dispute between a former couple on Raft Avenue on March 2 shortly after midnight. According to the complaint description, the complainant's ex-boyfriend took an ashtray and hurled it at the television and tried to grab the complainant.
  • Police answered a call for criminal mischief on Hiram Avenue on March 2 at around 11 p.m. According to the complaint, at some time during the night, a subject threw a brick through a vehicle window at the location.
  • Police responded to a burglary on Dolphin Lane on March 2 at around noon. According to the complaint description a door lock at the location had been tampered with.
  • Matthew Elder, of Holbrook was arrested on February 28 for fourth-degree grand larceny, theft of property worth in excess of $1,000.
