Crime Report: Bad Relationships, Burglaries and Harassment Day

A list of incidents in the Sachem area last week as reported by the 5th Precinct.

The following information is directly from the Suffolk County Police Department's media incidents list .

Farmingville

  • Police responded to a dispute between a husband and wife in which the husband shoved his wife at a residence on Horizen View Drive. The harassment call came in at 4:45 p.m. on September 9.
  • An incident of criminal mischief took place on Mount McKinley Avenue on September 8 at around 8:15 p.m.
  • Police responded to a grand larceny call on September 4 at around 10 p.m. According to the report valuables were stolen from a vehicle on Olive Court four days prior.
  • An possible break-in was just an incident of criminal mischief as the attempt to enter a home on Warren Court on September 4 was unsuccessful. According to the report pry marks were found on the back door of the home at around 10 a.m.

  • Police responded to a burglary on Smith Avenue on September 7 at around 10 a.m. According to the report the complainant had just discovered their apartment was broken into.
  • On September 7 a man in a tan Honda drove up to a garage on Main Street and stole valuables before taking off. The grand larceny call came at around 1 p.m.
  • Police answered a call for harassment after a boyfriend allegedly struck his girlfriend on Springmeadow Drive and then took off on a bike. The call came in on September 6 at 1:13 p.m.
  • Police responded to a burglary on Tarkington Road on September 6 at 9 a.m. The resident was waiting in front of the home when police arrived.
  • On September 5 an ex-husband and wife were battling it out in the parking lot of a Karate dojo on Furrows Road. Police responded to the harassment call at 4:30 p.m.
  • Police responded to a call for petit larceny on Main Street on September 4 at around 2:15 p.m. According to the report, the crime was committed by a white male, six feet tall, with a shaved head. He was wearing a grey button down shirt at the time.
  • A vehicle attacked a fence on Hiram Avenue on September 3 at around 1:40 a.m. According to the criminal mischief complaint, the driver of the vehicle struck the fence and then took off.
  • Police responded to a dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend on Halfcircle Drive on September 3 at around 9:45 a.m.

Holtsville

  • Police answered a call for criminal mischief on Timber Ridge Drive on September 9 at 1:30 a.m. According to the report the complainant might have known who did damage to his blue Hyundai.
  • A burglar with impeccable timing got in and out of a home on Washington Avenue on September 6 before the complainant came home. According to the report, the complainant was only out of the house for two hours when the burglary took place at around 11 a.m.
  • Police responded to a harassment call after a tenant allegedly assaulted his landlord on Jamaica Avenue on September 5. The call came in at around 9:35 a.m.
  • Another incident of harassment took place on Bayside Avenue on that same day. On September 5 at around 4:20 p.m. police responded to a dispute between two neighbors.
  • A third incident of harassment took place on Greenbelt Parkway, also on September 5 at around 5:35 p.m. This dispute took place between a wife, the complainant and their 9-year-old daughter.

Ronkonkoma

  • Police responded to a dispute between siblings on David Lane on September 9 at around 2:40 p.m.
  • An incident of aggravated harassment took place on September 6 at 10:27 a.m. on Boulder Street.
  • A resident on Eastview Road called police on September 9 after hearing a man and a woman having a violent argument. The call came in at around 6:50 p.m.
  • Police answered a call for criminal mischief on Shelter Road on September 7 after the complainant said someone threw a rock at his car window shortly before midnight. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Police responded to the burglary of a laptop at a location on Veterans Memorial Highway on September 7 at around 5 p.m.
  • Police answered a call for grand larceny on September 8 on Feureisen Avenue at around 10:15 a.m.
  • A resident on Cheryl Drive called police complaining that her ex-husband was harassing her by phone on September 8 at around 6:45 p.m.
  • Police answered a disturbing call of harassment on Lindell Avenue on September 6. According to the report a 10-year-old and an 11-year-old were beaten and bruised when police arrived at around 4 p.m.
  • Police responded to a burglary on Patchogue-Holbrook Road on September 6 at around 8 a.m. According to the report the burglary was committed by entering an unlocked window in the back of the home.
  • A resident on Creighton Avenue was assaulted on September 6 at around 5 p.m. According to the report, when the police arrived, both the complainant and the alleged assailant were still outside.
