Cops Seeking Ronkonkoma Cigarette Thief

Suspect fled in sedan with employee hanging from the window in an attempt to stop him.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct officers are asking for the public's help to identify and locate the man who stole a carton of cigarettes from a Ronkonkoma gas station last month.

According to police the man, pictured here, walked into the Sunoco gas station on Johnson Avenue in Ronkonkoma at around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 10 and swiped a carton of Newport cigarettes from the counter.

The station attendant saw the man do it and followed him out to his car, where he tried to reach in and take the merchandise back. The suspect sped off, however, with the attendant hanging out of the window. The suspect carried the attendant for about 60 feet before the employee dropped off.
