Cops: Medford Man Charged in Bank Robbery

Medford man demands cash from Lynbrook Bank of America, cops say.

A Medford man faces robbery charges after he allegedly robbed a Lynbrook bank, according to Nassau County Police.

Gaetano Delia, 53, of Medford, went to Bank of America in Lynbrook at 2:50 p.m. Monday and demanded cash, reported robbery squad detectives. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, Delia fled the bank in an unknown direction, cops said.

Police searched the area using a description of Delia and he was soon found on Broadway and Stewart Street in Hewlett, cops said. Lynbrook Police arrested Delia at the scene and the cash taken from the bank was found, police reported.

Delia is charged with second-degree robbery. He will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
