Burglary Forces Sachem Schools to Lockdown

Three buildings locked down Monday after Holtsville home was burglarized, police said.

Suffolk County Police reported to a second degree burglary Monday in Holtsville, forcing the Sachem Central School District to put three buildings on lockdown.

There was a burglary at a home on Biscayne Avenue. Police received their first call about the incident at 12:15 p.m.

A television and jewelry were stolen, police said. There was a search done in the area following the incident.

Schools make the ultimate decision on the lockdowns, according to the police. Chippewa, Waverly and Sagamore were locked down, according to a Connect-Ed message from the school district.

No one has been arrested for this incident.
