Body Found in Medford Woods Close to Where Missing Mother's Car Was Abandoned

Body is believed to be that of missing 21-year-old, according to reports.

Police are investigating the discovery of a female body in the woods in Medford Thursday evening, not far from where a missing woman's car was found abandoned.

Police said a 911 call came in at 6:17 p.m. from someone who was part of a group consisting of 40-45 people searching for Sarah P. Goode, the 21-year-old Medford woman who was reported missing by her sister on Sunday.

The 911 caller "found the body in a thickly wooded area" on Camden Court, police said.

The identity of the victim has not been confirmed and Homicide Squad detectives are investigating, police said.

PIX 11 has reported that the body is believed to be that of Goode.

Goode’s car, a gray 1999 BMW Model 328i, was found on Fire Avenue in Medford on Sunday "under suspicious circumstances," police have said. There were signs of a physical struggle inside the car, according to the NY Post.

Goode, who has a 4-year-old daughter, watched a movie on TV with friends Friday night, but she hasn't been seen or heard from since.
