Bar Fight In Holbrook Turns Into Road Rage, DWI Arrest

Report says man followed victim out onto LIE and rammed him near exit 63 late Friday night.

Police arrested a Holbrook man for DWI after they say he got into his vehicle after drinking at a Holbrook bar and chased down another bar patron with whom he had an argument on Friday night.

In a story first reported by Newsday, the arrest took place on the Long Island Expressway in the early morning hours of August 17, when Matthew Rall, 26, of Holbrook got into a dispute with Justin Pappas, also of Holbrook, at the bar. Pappas reportedly left the bar in his Ford Ranger with another male passenger.

That's when police say Rall hopped into his Toyota Tacoma and followed Pappas out onto the roadways. The report states that Rall caught up with Pappas on the eastbound lanes of the LIE. Pappas reported that Rall began to repeatedly rear-end the Ford Ranger near Exit 63. Nobody was injured, according to the report

Rall was charged with DWI and second-degree reckless endangerment, as well as refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test. He was released on $3,500 bail and is due back in court on September 23.
