Bank of America Robbed in Holbrook

Man handed teller demanding note, fled with cash onto Central Avenue.

A Holbrook bank was robbed Wednesday afternoon.

A man handed a teller a note demanding cash at the Bank of America bank at 4400 Veterans Memorial Highway at 11:40 a.m., according to Suffolk County Police.

The teller complied and the robber fled on foot south on Central Avenue. The banking center reopened at 2:30 p.m., and will be open during regular business hours Thursday, Bank of America said through it's corporate communication's staff.

The man is described as white, clean-shaven, with a medium build, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and is in his late 30s to early 40s, police said.

He was wearing a black hat with a logo referencing poker, dark sunglasses, a navy sweatshirt and dark pants.

"At Bank of America, the safety and security of our customers and associates is our top priority," the corporation said in a statement. "We are cooperating with law enforcement to aid in the investigation."

Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
