Armed Men Rob Farmingville Bank

The Astoria Federal Savings Bank on Horseblock Road was robbed Friday evening.

The Astoria Federal Savings Bank in Farmingville was robbed by two armed men Friday evening, police said. 

According to police, the two men entered the bank, located at 696 Horseblock Road, around 7 p.m. "armed with what appeared to be black handguns." One of the men went to a teller and demanded cash, police said. 

The teller complied and both men fled on foot southbound on Wendy Drive, police said. No one was hurt during the robbery. No arrests have been made. 

One robber is described as Hispanic, about 5-foot-8, bearded with a medium build. He was wearing a white sweatshirt, camouflage pants and a red and white baseball hat. The second robber, about 5-foot-2, with a medium build was wearing a winter vest with a grey hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap. Both men were described as between 20-30 years of age, police said.
